Thankful
I am grateful for...
I remember...
- All the wonderful people in my life.
- The warmth of love.
- The contrast of how good everything is now and not taking anything for granted.
- A cool boss.
- J-san's talent for making me laugh.
- Puri kura pictures.
- Books (The thousands of years it took for human beings to evolve, come up with a concept of recording thoughts, a system of written language, and developing a literate culture--not to mention the advancement of the printing process to where anyone now can publish their own book...It's miraculous!)
- Visiting my hometown for Thanksgiving with my sister.
- Spending quality time with my sister.
- Having dinner with my family.
- That my parents really did their damn-est in spite of the decks being stacked against them.
- Rick giving us a ride to the airport.
- A great brother!
- Constantly peeling the pain away like onion skins and remembering who I am.
I remember...
- Walking at Fort Funston one windy afternoon with Lisa and watching the hang gliders fly off the cliff.
- Walking to the bus stop with Justin after Nihongo study group in the cold winter night.
- Falling asleep downstairs on a red sofa by the vending machines at Art Center after an all nighter.
- The cool hallways of SFAI in the summer.
- The first time I saw the cherry blossoms by the New Genres' department at SFAI in the month of May.
- Driving down the beautiful Pacific Coast Highway with Aurora to Santa Cruz to see Bright Eyes.
- The miles and miles of endless pine forest by the 101 freeway south of Eureka.
- Eureka after the rain on a cloudy evening.
- Driving north of San Francisco in the dark windy road in September by myself...and how the moon shone on the water
- Coming home and watching Neon Genesis Evangelion while eating dinner during my last semester in college.
- How a month ago we didn't know whether Obama would be president...and how it's unimaginable now any other way! (How I wish he were president already!)
- More time alone to read books I want to read. To write. To draw. To sleep in!
- December and seeing Luffy!
- Doing more things I like
- Doing more scary (but fun) things I've always wanted to do
- Flexing my muscles (physical & metaphorical ones)
- Dancing
- Playing music
- Singing
- Writing more poetry
- Letting myself be me
- Camping
